Laura Lippman

Laura Lippman wurde 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia geboren. 1961 zog die Familie in die Nähe von Washingotn D.C. und dann, 1965, weiter nach Baltimore, Maryland. Laura besuchte die Wilde Like High School in Columbia, eine Art amerikanische Walldorfschule. Nach einem Abschluss an der Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism nahm sie 1981 einen Job bei der »Tribune Herald« in Waco, Texas an. 1983 zog sie nach San Antonio, wo sie bei der »San Antonio Light« tätig war. 1989 kehrte Laura Lippman in ihre Heimatstadt Baltimore zurück, wo sie als Redakteurin für die Morgenzeitung »The Baltimore Sun« arbeitete.

Die Serienheldin von Laura Lippman ist Tess Monaghan, eine ehemalige Reporterin und jetzige Privatdetektivin in Baltimore.

Heute lebt Laura Lippman als freie Schriftstellerin in Baltimore, Maryland.
